Previously, UWE relied on manual or semi-digital processes to issue certificates, which brought several challenges. When large guest lectures or events took place, certificates could not be issued in bulk within a short timeframe, creating delays for students. As a result, they often had to wait longer to receive evidence of their attendance or achievement.
Furthermore, certificate verification became a cumbersome task, as it required manual checks, which was not only inefficient but also slowed down the process for employers and professional organisations. To make matters worse, printing and distributing physical certificates added an extra layer of administrative burden while contributing to environmental impact.
The University of the West of England (UWE) is a UK university with over 30,000 students across a broad range of academic and professional programmes.UWE frequently hosts guest lectures, workshops and industry engagement events where students receive certificates recognising attendance or achievement.
